Welcome to R G Carr Plant Hire
Roger trained as an agricultural engineer and welder and for 7 years worked for Malton based R Yates and Son in their blacksmith shop and as a relief low loader driver. He then gained experience working as a HGV and Plant fitter for A C Commercials of Malton for 6 years.
Roger bought his first mini digger in 2001 as a part time project and soon added a tracked shovel and 6 ton excavator. As the work load increased Roger employed his Dad, Geoffrey, who had a life time of experience in the plant trade. Geoff worked for some of the largest plant contractors in Yorkshire including Reynards of Tholthorpe and worked all over the country. In 2006 Roger gave up full time employment to concentrate on expanding the business. Sadly Geoff died in 2009. Roger is now ably assisted by his brother, Phillip, who previously worked in quarries and recycling plants and is an experienced bulldozer operater. Roger has continued to upgrade his plant and machinery which now includes a 6 wheeler hook loader wagon, Cat 953 tracked loader, Cat 308 midi excavator, Case 13t excatator, Cat D3 dozer, Neuson mini excavator, a Cat teleporter, rollers and dumpers. All operators are CPCS trained.
